Roald’s parents, Wiesje and Ruud Beuving, who have since lived on Samui, are inviting those who knew him to the one-day “Tribute to Roald” photo exhibition. A selection of Roald’s works from the beginning through the last pictures he made will be on display. Roald or Ro enjoyed a wide coterie of both personal and professional friends on Samui and his family reminds all that “Ro loved parties.” Wiesje and Ruud will be on hand to welcome guests to the festive Friday event at 7 p.m. In his home country of Holland, Ro was a well-known photographer. He moved in 2006 to Koh Samui and his parents say he considered the island his “Paradise on Earth.” He was fast becoming an outstanding and popular photographer on the island when death snatched him. After his graduation from The Academy of Arts at The Hague, Roald worked for the Dutch Press Association ANP, Benelu Press and the Ministery of VROM, among other establishments. He was an independent photographer in Holland for several years before moving to Samui. On Samui he worked for the Japanese photo stock agency Imaggio and started Ro Photo-graphy to work with local clients. Besides a focus on real estate photography, Ro did resort and restaurant photographs. His pictures have been reproduced digitally and are available as hi-res jpeg or tiff files for print or web use. Ro’s parents are caretakers of all of his works and choice photographs from his various work assignments and portfolio will be on display at the “Tribute.” Photographs he took of the beauty of the island, at times for his own personal pleasure, will be on display as well. Roald Beuving had an extensive photography background, garnering global prizes and highly regarded awardsin Holland, Thailand and wherever he would travel. Roald had come together with good friend, Kiki, to form Ro Photography & Kiki Styling on Samui, combining their strengths in a unique concept. Roald continues to be greatly missed by his family and by his friends on Samui, The Netherlands and throughout the world. Email ruudenwiesje@msn. com or call 085-784-5402 for inquiries. |
