| Canadian found dead in Lamai |

A CANADIAN tourist was found dead in his rented bungalow in Lamai recently; the cause of his death was still unknown. Police identified the Canadian as Davies Omeros, 31, who was staying in a guesthouse in Moo 2 Maret subdistrict.Police said he must have been dead for two days before his body was discovered. A bottle of still unknown drug was found near his bed. Investigators said he could have died of some disease because there were no hints of fighting or of violence inflicted on him. The Canadian’s body was discovered after the room cleaner called him for the cleaning service, and nobody answered the phone. The room cleaner had noticed that she had not seen the Canadian since he checked in. The hotel staff later decided to unlock the door and was shocked to see Omeros’ dead body lying face down on the bed, half naked. The police and rescuers were called to inspect the body before it was transferred to Koh Samui Hospital for autopsy. — |
